Mission Statement
The mission of Outside the Lens is to empower youth to use digital media to create change within themselves, their community and their world. Our innovative program engages disconnected youth, encourages them to tell their stories and teaches them that participation in their community’s future makes a difference. We use cameras and digital media along with a proven educational strategy that allows youth to think creatively, engage in issues that are important to them and advocate for social change. |
Our Vision
Outside the Lens is dedicated to a future where all youth will have the access and education necessary to understand, evaluate and, most importantly, create media. Through photography, videography and digital media, youth become engaged learners and active participants in the classroom, their communities and ultimately the world.

MFF School
Outside the Lens is partnering with the Mediteran Film Festival to present MFF School, a filmmaking workshop for High School student!
This 2-week program will connect US High School students with local students and professional filmmakers from the Mediteran Film Festival. Together, the students will write, shoot, and edit their film, which will premier at the opening night of the festival! Following the festival, the film will be displayed on the MFF School YouTube Channel and social media avenues to reach audiences from all over the world!
Join us for this creative cross-cultural exchange and foster the importance of digital storytelling among youth while exploring the universal lanugage of film.
